Many historians will note that the most substantiated fact in the history of the world is the resurrection of Jesus Christ. Our faith is dependent on this truth. If Christ had not been raised, our faith would be futile. But thanks be to God, he is alive. Since Christ rose from the grave, we
can be confident that all of his other claims are true. Our Midweek Lenten worship series focuses on some of Jesus’ attention-getting and faith-building “I tell you the truth†statements, a translation of the Greek word amen. May Jesus’ “amens†lead us to sound our own “amens†in response.
Victory Comes when the LORD is with you. Joshua succeeded Moses to lead the conquest of Canaan. "Be strong and courageous" "I am with you." These realities are so important for the leaders of the LORD to remember. With the LORD with you, nothing can stand against us. With the strength of the LORD we can be joyful always and pray continually.
Elijah and Elisha were God's prophets during a tumultuous time in Israel's history. It was a testament to God's grace that he continued to speak and minister to his people. It was a testament to the power of sin as they continually rejected God and his spokesmen.
